Bottomline Sees Increasing Momentum for Transactional Document Automation Solutions within Microsoft Dynamics® AX Community

Customer Success in North America and Europe Drives Attainment of Solution Certification for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – November 17, 2008 - Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of collaborative payment, invoice and document automation solutions, today announced that adoption of its solutions for advanced document process automation continues to grow across North America and Europe as organizations standardized on Microsoft Dynamics AX actively seek to establish more efficient and cost-effective transactional document processes.

Recently certified by Microsoft, Bottomline’s Create!form® solution quickly and seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, enabling Microsoft Dynamics AX users to extend the capabilities of their ERP application without custom programming. Bottomline has been providing the Microsoft Dynamics community with advanced capabilities for document output since 2006, helping organizations standardized on the Microsoft Dynamics portfolio of ERP solutions to dramatically increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of document-based business processes through the automated creation, distribution and archive of transactional documents.

“As organizations place greater emphasis on business process efficiency and cost reduction, transactional document automation is becoming a key initiative for Microsoft Dynamics AX users,” said Rick Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bottomline Technologies. “The market response for our solutions, as well as Microsoft’s recent certification of Bottomline’s solution, only underscores the value and return on investment that we have been able to deliver to organizations across Europe and North America.”

Through its growing partner network, which now includes European organizations such as Stralfors Information Logistics and CIBER, as well as Tectura Corporation and mcaConnect in North America, nearly 50 organizations have selected Bottomline’s document process automation solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

“The momentum that we’ve established in North America among Microsoft Business Solutions Partners for our solution has extended into Europe, where our regional partners have played an important role in helping our organization to expand its geographic footprint within the global Microsoft Dynamics AX community and deliver value to customers,” said Nigel Savory, Managing Director of Europe for Bottomline Technologies.

Bottomline’s award-winning document process automation solution allows organizations to streamline business processes that rely heavily on paper-based documents. By automating the composition, routing, delivery and storage of transactional documents, such as invoices and payments, users can quickly and easily increase the efficiency and functionality of their document output while reducing costs. Integrating with industry-leading ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Bottomline’s solution protects existing IT investments while easing ongoing ERP maintenance and upgrades.
