PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – February 23, 2010 - Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY) a leading provider of collaborative payment, invoice and document automation solutions, today announced the company has donated $20,000 to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross to support relief efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
The Red Cross is currently on the ground in Haiti, providing water, food and shelter to the estimated 1,000,000 people made homeless by the January 12 earthquake.
“As a company we felt compelled to respond to the human suffering in Haiti,.” said Rob Eberle, chief executive officer at Bottomline Technologies. “We believe it is our responsibility to help our local and global community, when we can, and we hope other local companies do the same.”
In addition to acting quickly on disaster relief, including the 2004 Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the company has ongoing programs in place to ensure that giving back remains deeply embedded in the corporate culture. Bottomline programs such as the Employee Choice Program (which allows employees to direct donations to the organization of their choice) and the Charitable Giving Committee, among others, bring employees directly into the philanthropic process and provide support to people in need.
